On December 18th, a symposium on economic operation analysis of key chemical industries was held in Beijing, with relevant leaders of CPCIF and heads of its various departments attending the meeting. Leaders in charge of some key chemical industry associations were also among the participants. While president of CPCIF Li Shousheng presided over the meeting, Zhang Wenlei, president of CCAIA, provided an insight into the economic operation of the chlor-alkali industry in 2023, analyzed the existing issues, predicted the trend of the industry in 2024, and introduced the work priorities of the chlor-alkali industry in the following days. Leaders of China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, China Crop Protection Industry Association, China Rubber Industry Association, China Synthetic Resin Association and China Inorganic Salt Industry Association introduced the economic operation of this industry in 2023 and analyzed and predicted the trend in 2024. President Li Shousheng analyzed the main problems in various key industries in his concluding speech. Combining with the themes of the Central Economic Work Conference, he proposed that each industry should do a good job in expanding domestic demand, advancing innovation, optimizing structure, cultivating subjects, accelerating reform, and improving service capabilities in six aspects in a bid to continuously promote the high-quality development of the chemical industry.
