From October 10th to 12th, the China Chemicals Green Sustainable Development Conference was held in Beijing. Nearly 300 people from relevant national and provincial government departments, domestic and foreign chemical-related institutions, petrochemical industry-related enterprises and institutions, scientific research institutes, professional associations, and media representatives attended the conference. Vice Chairman Gu Xiulian of the 10th National People's Congress delivered a video speech. Li Shousheng, President of the Petrochemical Industry Association, gave a keynote speech. Deputy Director Ding Qiong of the Solid Waste Bureau of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, Deputy Director Zang Wenchao of the Solid Waste Management Technology Center, Deputy Director Ding Ding of the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center, Deputy Director Mo Hongpin of the Energy Conservation and Comprehensive Utilization Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, and other relevant leaders attended the meeting and delivered speeches. During the same period, four sub-forums were organized: "Chemicals Evaluation to Ensure Supply Chain Safety", "New Pollutant Control to Create a Harmless Environment", "Implementing International Conventions to Lead Global Environmental Governance", and "Chemical Safety and Sustainable Development Forum". Zhang Xin, Vice president of CCAIA, attended the meeting and gave a special report on "Promoting the development and application of mercury-free catalysts in the calcium carbide polyvinyl chloride industry" in the sub-forum on "Implementing International Conventions to Lead Global Environmental Governance".
