An Information Exchange Meeting on Mercury-free Acetylene PVC Production Held in Beijing

 Organized by the Solid Waste and Chemicals Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, an information exchange meeting on mercury-free acetylene-based PVC production was held in Beijing on August 21st. Among the participants were Han Jinyou, a secondary inspector from the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, Zhou Xianhui, President of China Chemical Industry Environmental Protection Association, Zhuang Xiangning, the deputy director of the Quality, Safety and Environmental Protection Department of CPCIF, and relevant responsible persons from the Foreign Economic Center, Solid Waste Center, and Analysis and Testing Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment. Meanwhile, Zhang Wenlei, President of CCAIA, Vice President Zhang Xin and Vice Secretary General Zhang Shoute attended the meeting. Chaired by Ding Qiong, Deputy Director of the Solid Waste Department of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment, the meeting reported on relevant situation to be considered by COP 5 on the Minamata Convention on Mercury, where these attendees exchanged information on the latest progress in research and application of mercury free catalysts for carbide PVC production, and conducted in-depth discussions on better performing compliance and promoting sound and sustainable industrial development and finally reached a consensus on these issues.
