On November 24, the 16th General Assembly of the Association and the 1st Council of the 11th Council were held in Beijing. 168 representatives including 136 member units attended the meeting. Luo Yun, president of the association, presided over the meeting. Li Shousheng, secretary of the party committee and chairman of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The relevant leaders of the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce, the Department of Hazardous Chemicals Supervision and Management of the Ministry of Emergency Management, and the Solid Waste and Chemicals of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment attended the meeting and delivered speeches. The meeting listened to the work report of "Pioneering, enterprising, solid work, and strive to promote the healthy and sustainable development of the chlor-alkali industry" made by the tenth council. The representatives fully affirmed the report and spoke highly of the work of the association in the past five years. The meeting adopted the report. The meeting reviewed and approved the Associations dues income and expenditure report. The meeting deliberated and voted through a secret ballot to approve the proposal on the revision of the associations articles. The Eleventh Council was elected at the meeting, Zhang Wenlei was elected as the Eleventh President, 19 comrades including Sun Zesheng and Zhang Xin etc were elected as the Eleventh Vice President, and Zhang Peichao was elected as the Eleventh vice president and secretary-general. The meeting elected Luo Yun, Li Ming and Wang Hongxin as the eleventh honorary president. The meeting passed the industry self-discipline convention, passed the proposal on the establishment of internal institutions, branches and expert groups and the person in charge, and passed the proposal of the general assembly to authorize the council to add and remove some directors during the session, and the council authorized the secretariat to develop and adjust. The newly elected president Zhang Wenlei said that the association will adhere to the core concept of "standardization, service and development", organize its work in strict accordance with the articles of association, serve the industry and member units wholeheartedly, and face the challenges of the industry during the "14th Five-Year Plan" period. Pioneering, daring to innovate, striving to promote the green development and high-quality development of the industry, and making unremitting efforts to realize the transformation from a big chlor-alkali country to a strong chlor-alkali country.
