On May 27th, the network press conference on the economic operation of the chlor-alkali industry organized by CCAIA was held. Zheng Jiebin, the deputy secretary-general of CCAIA, gave a detailed interpretation of the economic operation of the industry from January to May this year, the problems faced by the industry, and the outlook for the next stage. The meeting analyzed the current operating characteristics of the industry: 1-The production capacity of leading products has increased and decreased, and the overall operating rate has remained stable. 2-From January to April, caustic soda exports declined, while PVC exports increased. 3-The caustic soda market continued to fluctuate, and the PVC market rebounded in May. The meeting also pointed out that the industry still faces prominent issues such as the imbalance between alkali and chlorine, sluggish downstream consumption of PVC, and foreign trade barriers. The meeting also predicted the operating trends for the second half of the year. The meeting attracted widespread attention from both inside and outside the industry, with nearly 180 nodes from chlor-alkali industry chain production enterprises, traders, service organizations, and other units participating in the live broadcast.
