On April 8, a symposium on the operational situation analysis of key chemical industries in the first quarter of 2024, organized by the Raw Materials Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, was held in Beijing. Huang Yu, deputy director of the Department of Raw Materials, Han Jingyou, second-level inspector attended the meeting. China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association, China Rubber Industry Association, China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, China Phosphate and Compound Fertilizer Industry Association, China Inorganic Salts Industry Association, China National Coatings Industry Association, China Soda Industry Association, China Association of Fluorine and Silicone Industry attended the meeting. Zhang Peichao, the vice president, and secretary-general of CCAIA, and Zheng Jiebin, the deputy secretary-general of CCAIA, also participated in the meeting. At the symposium, representatives exchanged views on the economic performance of various industries in the first quarter of this year and the challenges they faced, and put forward targeted policy recommendations accordingly. In her speech, deputy director Huang Yu emphasized the importance of the suggestions raised by the participating organizations, and pledged to carefully review the issues and policy lists of various industries after the meeting to actively promote stable growth in the petrochemical industry. She also put forward four suggestions: strengthening industry operation monitoring and self-regulation, continuously expanding high-end consumption, actively promoting digital transformation in the industry, and striving to promote the development of high-end materials.
