A Seminar on the POPS Implementation of Hexachlorobutadiene was Held in Beijing

 On February 16, a seminar on the POPS implementation of hexachlorobutadiene organized by the Foreign Cooperation and ExchangeCenter of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment was held in Beijing. Among the participants were members from the Third Implementation Office of the Center for Foreign Cooperation and Exchange, CCAIA, the Ecological Environment Center of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Beijing Office of the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), who jointly discussed about the work plan and emission reduction measures related to HCB. With Zheng Jiebin, ViceSecretary-general of CCAIA, and Wang Li, Director of the Research Department attending the meeting, CCAIA introduced the current situation of China's trichloroethylene industry and the byproduct of hexachlorobutadiene, and put forward relevant suggestions for follow-up implementation and emission reduction. At the same time, these participants exchanged relevant processes and international experience of HCB emission reduction measures.
