On February 10, aseminar on the POPS fulfillmentof chlorinated paraffins organized by the Foreign Cooperation and Exchange Center of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment was held in Beijing. Participants from the Third Implementation Division of the Center, CCAIA and Peking University jointly discussed about the next steps to cope withthe MCCPs fulfillment. Zhang Peichao, Vice President and secretary general of CCAIA, and Wang Li, Director of the Research Department, attended the meeting. CCAIAprovided an insight into the development status of chlorinated paraffins in China, and put forward relevant suggestions on the downstream exempted use of MCCPs. Others exchanged in-depth views on the downstream exempted uses, the industry transformation and the risk management assessmentdraft of the POPS’ Secretariat.
