On July 20, a symposium on the analysis of the economic operation of majorindustries in the petrochemical and chemical industry system for the first half of 2022 was held in Beijing. In addition to China Chlor-Alkali Industry Association with Vice President Zhang Peichao and Deputy Secretary General Zheng Jiebin included,other participatingorganizations were the Department of Raw Materials of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation (CPCIF), China Soda Industry Association, China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association, China Phosphate Fertilizer Industry Association, China Crop Protection Industry Association, China Rubber Industry Association, China Coating Industry Association and China Dyestuff Industry Association. As the meeting was presided over by Fu Xiangsheng, Vice President of CPCIF, major associations introduced the economic operation of their respective industries and put forward targeted policy recommendations. At the meeting, Vice President Zhang Peichao introduced the economic operation characteristics of the chlor-alkali industry in the first half of 2022 and put forward relevant policy recommendations. In his concluding speech, Vice President Fu Xiangshengrevealed that the overall economic operation of the petrochemical industry remained slow and stable with the main economic indicators being within a reasonable range. As the operating income and profits maintained a rapid growth, import and export trade grew fast. However, the differentiation of industry benefits has intensifiedand the downward pressure on economic operation has been aggravated due to the high cost of raw materials, weak downstream demand and weak market expectations.
