On October 26, the Ministry of Commerce organized and held the 2021 National Trade Remedy Work Conference. The conference was held on-site and in the form of video. The heads of relevant national ministries, local commerce departments, and 19 key industry associations attended the meeting. Zhang Peichao, vice president and secretary general of CCAIA, attended the meeting at the Beijing branch. Vice Minister of Commerce Ren Hongbin pointed out that during the "13th Five-Year Plan" period, the national commerce system actively carried out trade remedy work, making positive contributions to stabilizing the fundamentals of foreign trade and foreign investment and maintaining the security and stability of the industrial chain and supply chain. During the "14th Five-Year Plan" period, the domestic and foreign environment has undergone profound changes, and the situation and tasks faced by the trade remedy work are more severe and complex, and the responsibilities are even greater. It is necessary to strengthen work coordination and play an active role in better serving high-level opening up, promoting high-quality development of trade, and safeguarding development interests. Director Luo Jin of the Trade Remedy and Investigation Bureau of the Ministry of Commerce made a summary report on trade remedy work. In the report, Director Luo fully affirmed the important role of industry associations in trade remedy work, and said that he would further strengthen the use of trade remedy methods and support the industrial healthy and sustainable development. The meeting also conducted experience exchanges. The Shanghai Municipal Commission of Commerce introduced the situation of Shanghais trade adjustment assistance work. The Zhejiang Provincial Department of Commerce introduced the progress of the comprehensive experimental zone for multi-agent coordinated response to trade frictions in Zhejiang Province. Shanghai Industrial Security Monitoring and Early Warning Research Center introduced the situation of regional industrial safety monitoring, and the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electricity introduced the situation of multi-agent coordination to deal with trade frictions.
