The seminar of key chlorinated paraffin enterprises was held online

    On January 6, the key chlorinated paraffin enterprise seminar organized by the association was held online, more than 30 people from more than 20 enterprises including Ningbo Zhongyu, Zhejiang Zhenyang, Shandong Xinfa, Luxi Chemical, Danyang Auxiliary, Luoyang Sanjin, Inner Mongolia Yihai, Longyan Longhua, Hebei Jiheng and Jiangmen Guangyue attended the meeting. Zhang Peichao, vice president and secretary general of the CCAIA, and Wang Li, deputy director of the Information Department, attended the meeting. The association introduced the progress of China short-chain chlorinated paraffins compliance and the POPS compliance situation faced by medium-chain chlorinated paraffins. The United Kingdom has submitted to the Secretariat of the Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee that the carbon chain length is in the range of C14-17 and the degree of chlorination is in the range of C14-17. Proposal for listing chlorinated paraffins at or above 45% (chlorine content by weight) in Annexes A, B and/or C of the Stockholm Convention on Persistent Organic Pollutants, Persistent Organic Pollutants Review Committee The seventeen meetings (POPRC17) will be held in Geneva, Switzerland from January 24 to 28 2022. The association will participate in the meeting online as a member of the government delegation. Various enterprises conducted in-depth exchanges and discussions on the implementation of medium-chain chlorinated paraffins POPS, and put forward suggestions for negotiation. The association provided relevant suggestions to the national POPS implementation negotiation team, and strived to promote the healthy and stable development of the industry.
